This is a genius way to fake lash extensions on monolids
Lockdown restrictions in some parts of the country began to
ease in late summer, allowing some people to return to their usual activities,
such as getting haircuts or dining with friends. But not everyone has been
comfortable going in person for beauty treatments initially paused by the
pandemic. With no professionals at our disposal, those of us who didn't study
cosmetology come up with innovative beauty hacks, many of which can be found on
TikTok. Some are so clever and easy to make that we see them over and over
again.
After missing her regular lash extension appointments,
Madeline Park, also known on TikTok as , discovered a quick fix to create the
illusion of a faux lash: Instead of applying real lashes, she simply draws them
in with eyeliner. eyes. “I started doing this when everything shut down in New
York due to the pandemic,” she says in a voiceover at the beginning of her
video. "And even if they reopen, I was like, 'I'm not going to risk my
life trying to get my eyelashes fixed.'" Amen to that!

Eyelash extensions give you long, full, semi-permanent

hair-like strokes on her lid with liquid eyeliner. She likes using Missha's
Ultra Powerproof Liquid Eyeliner, but we think Urban Decay's Perversion
Waterproof Fine-Point Eye Pen and Benefit's Roller Liner Liquid Eyeliner would
also be great choices. After drawing these initial lines, she lets the eyeliner
dry before going back to fill in the gaps. She then adds a thin line at the
base of her lashes, almost as if she is starting to create a cat eye. To
finish, she curls her natural lashes and adds mascara (she tries Maybelline's
affordable Falsies Lash Lift Mascara).

BY SAMANTHA MCMEEKIN
The finished look gives CafeMaddy the look of
natural-looking fluttering eyelashes, especially from a distance. Despite her
ingenuity, Park points out in the video that she's not sure this trick will
work on people who don't have monolids. But for those of you with monolids who
have trouble applying false lashes or just want a quick fix, congratulations –
you've just found a way to create lashes in seconds.
